Range anxiety 🔋🚗 😬

Are longer range battery packs the missing piece in the EV puzzle?

Electric vehicles seem to tick all the boxes for our future mobility needs — they’re clean and green, drive fast and look cool.

California is planning to have 5 million EVs on the road by 2030. But one thing holding back mass adoption is range anxiety. 😟🔋

You can’t (yet) fill up at any old gas station…

And the battery range will only get you so far.

California Clean Energy Fund are backing the next wave of clean energy entrepreneurs with smart solutions to the EV charging / range dilemma.

Sepion Technologies

Sepion Technologies are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with next-generation Li-metal anodes.

They are developing advanced composite membranes with the potential to deliver energy-dense, high-power Li-metal anodes at a competitive cost.

Li-metal anodes have the potential to double the energy density of today’s Li-ion batteries. This might be the key to powering electric vehicles beyond 400 miles on a single charge.

Sepion Technologies and the California Clean Energy Fund are working hard to develop safe, energy-dense batteries capable of powering EVs for the long haul and, in turn, driving the wholesale adoption of EV transport.

Intertie

Intertie are developing a modular, smart grid solution, the EV ChargePodâ„¢. This modular battery system delivers super-fast EV charging, intelligent storage and solar integration.

Their EV ChargePodâ„¢ can be delivered anywhere and installed quickly at minimal cost.

As well as providing super-fast EV charging it can utilise its large scale battery to delivers energy back into the grid. These ‘peak shaving’ services help the grid to smooth spikes in energy demand & make extra moola.

The modular system allows the EV ChargePod to be rolled out and installed quickly and cheaply at existing gas stations, parking lots or anywhere else there is a need for fast EV charging.

Powerflex systems

Powerflex Systems combines super-fast EV charging with control software to optimize EV charging in real time.

Powerflex Systems’ smart charge software can integrate renewable energy into EV charging. It also ensures that EV charging systems respond to grid conditions, demand response (DR) signals or electricity prices.

The key to that Powerflex smart charging software is scheduling each EV based on energy and time requirements, to optimize peak demand and other metrics. This is the glue that integrates better batteries with quicker charges.

Charge on!
